Dear Members of CHTC,

We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all those who have reached out following the very sad news about our General Manager, Alan Rader. Alan passed away at his home on Sunday, October 3rd. The last few days have been extremely difficult for all of us who knew him well. Alan was our General Manager for 16 years and became a dear friend to many members and employees. He arrived at a time when the club was struggling, and this last year we saw record membership. Alan worked tirelessly in service of CHTC, its members and his staff. We have so much that we are grateful to him for. Our club came second only to his family: his wife Tracy, and children, Destyn and Jaedyn. We are heartbroken for them and share in their grief.

The Board’s immediate focus is on helping our tennis community in supporting Alan’s family and ensuring that club operations continue as smoothly as possible. Once things settle down, we are planning to have a tennis fundraising event for Alan’s family and the board is currently working out details of direct financial support for them.

In the meantime, a friend of the family has started a GoFundMe page to accept personal gifts that will be given directly to the family. People have asked about it, so we are sharing the GoFundMe link below as a courtesy to the family. This is not a solicitation.

We are grateful to all our staff – Michal “Z” Zaluski, Andrea Acker, Shawn Hoffman, Ronni Nichamin, Jorge Marin, Mike Chamberlain, Ian Shepard, John Beeson, Christina Ahn, Jared Parchesky, Hannah Jackson, Mary Anne Kendall, Andy Nelson, Todd Pizer, Jon Noyes, Steve Wray, Nick Walker, Brian Freiburghouse, Chay Kuo, Tate Godwin, Kevin Huang, and Stephen Poulos – who continue to work through these very difficult times to take care of our members and our club. We ask for your patience in the coming days and weeks as we work through the challenges ahead.

Warmest regards on behalf of the Board of Directors,

Sheila Newton
