Back in March, Chapel Hill Tennis Club launched a pilot program that allowed a select group of year-round members to reduce their dues by using wellness credits through their health insurance and FitOn Health. The results were exceptional—participants saved nearly 70% on their dues over the past three months.
We’re now thrilled to offer this same opportunity to all year-round members with qualifying insurance, including Blue Cross Blue Shield and other select North Carolina plans.
As a Registered Non-Member, you’ve been enjoying our instructional programs, but at premium rates—up to $11 more per private lesson than our members pay. While we appreciate your continued support of our professional staff, we want to make sure you're aware of this program—because for many of you, year-round membership could now be less expensive than staying a non-member.

💡What Is FitOn Health?
FitOn Health is a platform that works with your health insurance to convert monthly wellness credits into payments that can be applied to your CHTC dues.
💰What Are Wellness Credits?
Many insurance providers—including BCBS—offer monthly wellness funds at no additional cost to encourage physical activity. You can now use those credits toward your CHTC membership.
✅How It Works:
You enroll with FitOn Health (FOH), and both you and CHTC receive confirmation.
As long as you use the club at least 4 times per month and remain in good standing, FitOn Health covers about 70% of your dues.
Your CHTC account is credited the following month.
🚫Note: This program is only available through select insurance plans. If your provider doesn’t offer wellness credits, this benefit does not apply.
❓Frequently Asked Questions
1. What if I don’t have BCBS?
Currently, the program is available through select carriers in FitOn Health’s network. We’re actively working to add others, like UnitedHealthcare and Aetna.
2. Will this cost me more?
No—it’s designed to save you money.
Individual Membership: $32/month ($96/quarter) vs. $116.67/month ($350/quarter)
Family Membership: $64/month ($192/quarter) vs. $165/month ($495/quarter)
(Capital dues remain unchanged for all.)
3. What if only one adult in my family has BCBS?
You’re still eligible! Your family rate would be $75/month ($225/quarter), with capital dues unchanged.
4. Can I sign up on my phone?
Unfortunately, no. Enrollment must be done via a PC or Mac. We’d be happy to help you complete the process at the club.
5. How often do I need to use the club?
At least 4 times per month.
To track usage, please:
Include your name on all tennis, pickleball, or swim reservations
Sign in at the Pro Shop when using the fitness room
6. When will I start seeing savings?
You’ll still pay quarterly dues up front. After you meet the monthly usage requirement, we submit your information to FitOn Health. Once they send payment, we credit your account—up to $89 per person each month.
7. Will my club privileges be different from other year-round members on this program?
Not at all. You’ll enjoy the same full privileges—at a significantly lower cost.
8. Do I have to take fitness classes to qualify?
No. This program is for all year-round members, no matter how you use the club.
